While I too, abhor the squelching of free speech, I wouldn't watch the Grammy awards to be educated on the political viewpoints of it's participants.  It's called context.  The award ceremony is intended to reward excellence in artistic creativity, not to serve as the personal political soapbox of those who may have displayed such qualities in the past. Misunderstanding this concept would only serve to make an artist look like an overzealous fool.

Perhaps this would be a more appropriate platform for such views:
