O'Reilly is a populist. I think he's way out on a limb casting our current cultural climate as a purely secular vs. traditionalist "war." Most people I know have views that fall somewhere in between. And I think even most secular progressives (most) would not be completely against many traditional values, especially those with children to raise. By painting everything as a "war," O'Reilly has only served to further polarize the populace. In his book, each carefully culled anecdote might make sense on its own, but I think there is a lot more common ground than O'Reilly realizes. But he sometimes raises a good point or two, and I think any wholesale abandonment of "traditional" values (or at least the ones I agree with!) is foolish.
