I'm a small government guy.
I am aghast that Christian's entangle themselves with
such
nonsense as Faith Based Initiatives.
I was surprised, and then pleased, that Armey refused
Mr
Dobson.
Hoping Mr Armey was truthful, I am disgusted that Mr
Dobson
and others in and out of the faith(in Jesus alone, of course),
are playing Christians like "insert your favorite charlaton
here".
I had discounted Mr Armey as another huckster, which I
must
now reconsider after further investigation; though there's no
chance he'll get a dime from me.
(Screw the national charities, give locally where there is
accountability and a fuller measure for those in need of
assistance!)
And finally, I do not consider it among governments'
duties,
to determine social norms. I'm probably not a John Adams
guy(preferring Jefferson's tact), but I agree with JA when he
wrote, "They define a republic to be a government of laws,
and not of men.". The latter being our current state.
Especially after the fateful signing of 17 Oct 06.

PS After reading your note, I reread the piece posted,
and
realized I may have given you the impression I agreed with Mr
Armey much more than I do. Cause frankly, though a
scripture(inerant) believing, death and resurrection, the Lord
will may return very soon, Christian; this evangelical right save
the nation through politics is just wrong headed.
Not that he'd reply on topic, but, let me just shut Pat up
before he begins his usual garbage:
Eph 6:12* For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in
high places.
Save it, as a result of your disedifying history of posts,
you are
henceforth invisible because you're not worth the effort of
responding too..
