Yes, I believe a large part of the US not getting attacked again is partly chance and other things. We still do not have enough translators sifting through intelligence, our borders are still not safe, our chemical plants are not guarded and this idiot in the Whitehouse is making more unnecessary enemies for the US everyday.

Pull your head out of your rear end and think of this one simple thing: how long have the people in the Middle East been fighting? Citizens in the US and Middle East have an entirely different conceptual perspective when it comes to war.

However, if you think measuring the number attacks by foreigners on US continental soil is a good way to gauge this battle, then you truly are naive and ignorant of the facts. Unless I'm mistaken, the continental US has had two foreign led terrorist attacks in my era (The first in 1993 and the second in 2001 - maybe when we get to 2009 without another attack you can claim the "haven't been hit again" bullshit).

As for Reid and the "no-idea" Democrats, can you really argue the point that the Bush Whitehouse has not been open to bipartisan ideas? This man has done nothing to embrace other folks for help - not a fucking thing. He has only alienated everyone else.

How can any political party stand up to Americans of the other party and question their patriotism when these folks have lost limbs for this country (Tammy Duckworth, Max Cleland) and expect help is beyond me.

Anymore my feeling to these assholes is, "you got us in this mess alone, now you get us out."

And Pat, you missed my entire point about the Dick Gregory question - Bush was asked a very clear question - how he would feel if one of America's soldiers was captured and treated horribly because the enemy wanted to interpret the Geneva Conventions all their own way. In other words, treated in the way Bush wants to do it himself.

But go ahead, ignore the comments of MILITARY people, while the man in the house truly does become the Torturer-in-Chief.

Pat, why do you hate our democratic ideals so much?
