Given the choices we’ve been seeing, (Just saying what if?) I still believe Gore/Chomsky could be a great Presidential ticket as far as Presidential packages go. Not that it’d ever happen in this grave new more efficient world of ours…because good things never happen in big ways; …not anymore. There’s just no damned profit in it.
Do you want to be President, son? How dad, when we are here, where the silver-haired eating Thanksgiving diners in old-money Victorian manors pick the winners years before they take the dais, …& I am only ten & you’re not a judge or a senator or king or cardinal or another demigod-like hierarchal figure hedging my bets & paying my debts to society?
Not that I’m saying there aren’t other pertinent choices climbing the Ivy League towers of faith. & other choices like…NONE of THE ABOVE. But because I am an American, raised on the dramatic and the miraculous and the brave and the farfetched, I can see the human/civic value in well-meant intellectual thinkers & doers with notions of history & wonder & benevolence & the connectivity between us beings & the Earth that houses us...
& not…the pursuits of career politicians in deep perpetuated pockets…who read the prompter & play ball. Problem is, that’s all that’s been winning for decades. Honorable gents all? Yeah..., well…it feels patriotic to call ‘em that anyway. & there is no shortage of Americans willing to gladly sidle-up and vote on their behalf…while going to battle against other fellow Americans for losing faith in the status quo & looking elsewhere.
