Gene, I have followed Doyles career also, and have the cd's you mentioned. His Dad was one of Stevie Ray's closest collaborators, as well as being one his original drummers in Austin despite nearly a 10 yr. age difference (Doyle being older). One the the most poignant and in my own opinion their best work is on the SRV disc "In Step". The song "Life By The Drop" written by Doyle Sr. tells the story of fighting the demons Stevie had finally conquered at the time of his tragic death. Doyle Jr., Charlie Sexton (Will's brother) and Double Trouble released 1 album as "The Arc Angels". Sadly, during work on a 2nd release, Doyle had slipped into addiction himself. Clean, and sober I saw Doyle perform twice last summer and he wa s in great form vocally and pretty handy on the 'ol gee-tar. An appearence with David and the NFU would sound great.
