Mona's actually part labrador too, but she looks like your classic dingo--exactly like our unfortunate photoshopped friend.

Or, just like this.

Just love her, and thanks for that article--she gets super-attentive and eager to run around at night, and that explains it. She has more aural acuity than any other dog I''ve ever had--she can hear, or somehow sense, both rats and cats on the ground below us, through triple-paned windows from the third floor of a brick and concrete building. How do I know this? She often leaps up at night and starts clawing and howling at the window. Twice I've been able to see what she was so excited about--once it was a rat, three stories down and directly across the street, and the other was a cat, also across the street, but even further away, in the parking lot just further west. Supersmart, and picks up simple commands easily. Loving, mysterious, with the dignity of a not-quite-tame creature, who goes along with your commands because she loves you, and she generally likes you and trusts your judgement, not because she's enslaved by you. Like a strong, collaborative cat. I rave about her all the time. Great great dog.
