But Pat, doesn't that go back to the question David asked you about, if Texas were invaded and your family were murdered to impress upon you Texas' need of an Islamic form of government, wouldn't you be unrelenting and merciless in your resistance?

And I'm having trouble capturing the other idea that troubles me about your approach. I guess, it just seems to me that you are making insufficient distinctions about why these folks are so resisting democracy.

(Beside the fact that I believe that is a load of horse manure, because the stated goal of Iraqi democracy fails to coincide with the various results. But particularly noticeable is the fairly constant growth of Iraqi resistance which indicates civilian approval, which demands the question, if the Iraqi's are so desirous of American democracy why is the resistance increasing?)

I mean, can't you turn this around Pat? Can't you see we are forcing our-country upon them? That common Iraqi's have every reason to hate the American familiarity they didn't request, quite apart from their jealous religious tradition?
