To try and relate this to some kids skiing is ridiculous. Skiing is risky, and only the relatively well to do can go on such trips. So following your dismissive logic couldn’t one make that case that it’s hardly a tragedy that some spoiled brats out trying to fuck with Mother Nature got squashed?

 

While those kids may have grown up to do some things to benefit all of society, the astronauts were already doing things that would help us all.

 

Being that you are Canadian, may I suggest that you put your copy of Rush’s Signals in the player, and hit play for track #8, Countdown. The song pays homage to the space shuttle, and for good measure even features audio from STS-1, the first time that Challenger was launched.
