I played bass on a wierd session there in the early '80s, for some
ballet company thing, I cant remember much, other than that Joe
Walsh was there, too, and he was quite lit up. Also the great Brian
Ray, a terrific guitarist. And I met a girl that night, but sigh I cant
remember her name. The Record Plant was the only studio Ive ever
been too with a hot tub in the garden and cocaine mirrors built into
the mix console. Garry Creiman told me that he found piles of
cocaine inside the mix desk when he pulled it apart for a refurb.
Wild place, by most accounts. When rock ruled the roost. Now all
the excess belongs to the rappers.
