sad to say, i'm with you there. it's like when all the american flags were everywhere... at a certain point you had to ask yourself "what is this person saying with this flag"? now whenever i hear a twang in a voice i ask myself the same question. especially when i hear it in my own. the knee jerk chest thumping that passes for patriotism in some circles is enough to make a fella sick. my america, the one i'm proud of, is the america of ornette coleman, and mark twain, and hank aaron, ben franklin, and billy wilder... in other words, a curious, healthy, questioning, loving, lovable, mutt. toby keith? absolutely despicable, as well as a stunning bore.
