Firstly, I detest that piece of music. It is sooo boring, and has been so overdone, and overplayed by thousands of musicians and orchestras all over the world.  Nausea is my first emotion to the Pachebel Canon.  The image of yuppies drinking "white wine, slapping each other on the back", at this,  their first listen to "classical music" always comes to the fore. 

No, it's not Eric, but the kid is a great player (technically),  if you like that prog neo-classical style of electric playing. I don't.  I think Mick probably does.  Go listen to some Ingwie Malmsteen, if you like that.  He does Paganini for Gawd sake, and at lightspeed tempos.  My arthritic fingers hurt, just thinking about it...and ....I hate that type of music.   Give me one or two notes by B.B.King anyday.
