Makes absolutely no sense, Kyle. If you imported with I tunes
using AAC you certainly can burn them onto CD, I do it all the time.
Does it have to be an MP3 CD?? If you imported using AAC that IS
a form of MP3 called an M4A which stores files similarly to an MP3,
so why on earth would you want an MP3 CD when you already can
burn an M4A straight off the I tunes?
Any files on I tunes burn directly without file conversion, especially
if you used AAC!! You can change the way you import however. If,
when you upload the CD, and want to import as an MP3, I tunes
allows you to do that, or use WAV or AIFF etc.. The (AAC) file is like
an MP3 called M4A on MAC. It burns directly onto CD, and for the
life of me, I cannot tell one little bit of difference between the
sound of those files and a full WAV file, the technology is that
good.
Another option which works instantaneously, is to convert what
you want to burn to WAV. Go to the ADVANCED setting on your I
tunes, after highlighting the tune, and hit the "Convert to WAV"
choice. Presto, it's now a WAV file and that will certainly burn to
CD. But it makes no sense to convert your AAC ie M4A files to
MP3, because M4A's burn directly and are playable anywhere (it's
like the perfect MP3 type file). If you cannot do this on your
computer, there is either something wrong with the way your
Itunes was set up in the first place or something amiss with your
computer.
What platform are you using? Maybe that's the problem. I
use a
Power MAC G5 but I know I tunes works with Windows also.
I'd suggest doing the following. Open I tunes. Go to
Preferences
tab. Then select Importing. Then there are choices: Import Using
AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless, MP3 or WAV. Whichever you pick is the
way the file you import will be stored. But...those are all directly
burnable to CD, so I still don't understand why your I tunes is not
allowing you to do that???!!! Ask, Dan...he might know.
