British...and Jewish. I think he was/is from London. I didn't know he was still alive. He had some mental problems that sidelined him for years. Gary Moore has a tribute album to him called Blues for Greenie you might like if you enjoy that Brit Blues sound. One of my fav albums is Then Play On (when they were still a blues band; I didn't like them when the girls joined and they became a pop group). Great tunes on that one.
