Normally not a genre I pay much attention to, but...

I just saw the movie "Samarai Fiction" which came out about 6 or so years ago. What a great flick! Beautiful cinematography, hilarious dialogue, and nice fight scenes. It's almost entirely shot in black and white.  

It is Japanese with English subtitles, so if you still have "My Pet Goat" on your bookshelf you prolly won't be able to keep up.
