The WCHA is by far the best conference in college hockey. Last year all four teams in the Frozen Four were from there, and in all WCHA teams win about half of the NCAA titles. 

Vermont was having a nice run, but I see they just lost and tied. The Christmas break usually totally screws teams up, so it could be a pretty exciting race to the finish.

The Frozen Four is going to be held in Milwaukee this year, and I got tix. It's been "the plan" all along for the Badgers to be there - we've been saying it since we got our new coach ~4 years ago.  

Like you having a hard time following the midwest teams, it is difficult for me to see any of the east coast teams. College hockey is so regional - I guess the best advice is to just follow what teams you can. It's a great sport, and ticket prices are usually such that it is highly affordable entertainment. We are really blessed here with not only a solid team, but a nice facility and the hardest working band in the land.
