Along with the Born To Run Box set I also picked up the three DVD boxed set from the folks at Rhino Records, My expectations were very low but I was quite surprised at the quality of both of these shows. Both "operas" are performed complete with a full compliment of musicians to make them sound more like they did on the record then the standard four piece could. It was good to see John on bass but I still miss Keith Moon on the old kit. The third disc features the encores or second sets from both these shows and the second set after Tommy was as long or longer the the opera. Pete primarily plays acoustic throughout both of these shows and has his right hand in bandage for one of them. This was the period when his docotor recommended he avoid the electric for a while for his ear issues. Guests appear in both opera sets including Elton, P.J. Probey , Steve Winwood, Billy Idol and Patty LaBelle. If your a Who fan and you've been curious about this release I'd say don't hesitate.
