I saw Scofield and his band last night at the Tractor Tavern here in Seattle. He's doing an all Ray Charles show and it cooks! He's a terrific, fluid, and funky guitar player; just plays with the electronica enough to add spice. His band, drums, bass, B-3 were right there with him.
They were playing the Blue Note in NY a couple of weeks ago when I was there but I missed them. I'm glad I caught them here at the Tractor. It was about half the price and we were right up against the stage. Here's a link to Scofield's web site. If his current tour brings him through your part of the country check him out!
