Reading this link a couple of startling issues become apparent.The first is that trial lawyers will be come wealthy from civil actions. Wonder where all the conservatives against lawsuits are at on this one. Wonder how this is going to impact on two gangbangers who both have guns. "Hey, I THOUGHT he was going to shoot me first!"Another one is that when it comes to killing people, this gives citizens more authority than police officers have when it comes to using deadly force against someone (Tennessee V. Garner, US Sup Ct case that basically says that law enforcement officers cannot use deadly force unless the suspect is an immediate threat of death or great bodily harm - this case ended the shooting of mere "fleeing felons" just because they flee).This just makes me wonder about the American love affair with guns is all about. Small peckers maybe?
