Let's take your views on abortion - not your actual views, but that you feel it is wrong. From your post it seems to be that nothing could sway your position on abortion (this is not to be meant for a debate on abortion, but a debate on changing people and their culture). And that leads to my point.

When it comes to sincere beliefs in anything that a person will not change, another person, government or actions of others will not change those beliefs and to think that our presence in Iraq is going to change Islamic radicals is a myth and fantasy.

Simply attempt to put yourself in their shoes - an invading army entered their country for stated reasons that turned out to be false. Just imagine if some foreign entity tried to change this country in such a drastic way - it couldn't happen and to expect it in other places is unrealistic.

Now, if Bush had went about this completely different and used completely different strategies and tactics, the story might be unfolding in a different way. But he did not and we are where we are and it isn't going to get any better.
