First of all Steve - I'm glad we're having this back and forth.

As to your contention that SH was ultimately responsible for this mess - then I point you to the Downing Street Memo as a starting point and then to various and sundry former Bush staff who have reported in some form or another that this invasion was imminent long before the weapons inspectors even crept into the news. You think SH is solely to blame and I think GW (and his war advisors) are to blame because they weren't truthful in their selling of this war. I guess this disconnect could explain why you're OK with so many Iraqi (and American and British and Spanish and Polish) casualties because the blame rest squarely with a bad man. I personally think his regime was pitiful and the Iraqis definitely suffered under his rule - but that alone shouldn't justify a war. You also mention that innocent deaths were not intended...how can you forget shock and awe?
