maybe not quite that far David, but we are not dealing with rational minds here either. The only things they (our enemies) respect are Allah and power. So yeah, a show of serious force may be a possibility for the lunatic rulers.
The middle east is unstable as hell. Geez, these guys want to kill each other (though not as bad as they'd like to kill us and Israel). I feel better knowing we've got an eye on them now and a powerful presence in all of their backyards.
That still doesn't mean I feel comfortable with things as they are though.
