Well sometimes songs are arranged differently or cropped for live performance, that's not unusual. Maybe he forgot the lyrics? That also happens. I dunno, ask D. Yeah, I do like that lyric as well.

My fav though, is that line he changed about, "LA...the whorehouse by the sea". In the original song, it seems pretty obvious he is referring to LA, but in the live version(s) he just comes right out and says it...
