I'm in the middle of a couple week long vacation with my kid. So far we hit Great Basin national park for a couple days (excellent place! 105 degrees at the base, but you can hike through glaciers amongst 4,000 year old bristlecone pines at the highest altitudes), drove through Zion NP, the Red Canyon part of the Dixie National forest, spent two days camping and hiking at Bryce Canyon NP, then drove through most of southern Utah on highway 12. Absolutely spectacular views and a mad variety of weather. In one day, the temps ranged from 57 to 104 degrees. Right now I'm near the Four Corners - yesterday we went to Mesa Verde to see the Pueblo Indian cliffside dwellings.
As they sang so eloquently in Team America: "America - Fuck Yeah!!!"
