I mean, it's numbers are right up there with arena football anf pro bowling.

However, I do enjoy watching/following College Hockey.

Oh, agree entirely.  It does not have wide appeal, which is why I always thought the degree of expansion was a bad idea.  Showing my age here, but when I was a lad, there were only 6 teams.  The teams were very well supported in the hosting cities, and television coverage in those areas was excellent.  The first expansion or so was OK, because it still concentrated on Canadian and largely Northern American cities.  I think the sport died of over-exposure, right after the post Olympic hoopla when team USA won it.  There was a brief surge in public interest, but as you point out, most people don't watch it, so ultimately it fizzled.   The sport is supported by populace who have grown up with the sport, or live in areas like I did, where there were no other professional sports.   In Canada, as a kid, it was Hockey, Hockey and maybe...Curling.

You know what Curling is don't you?    There's a Neil Young lyric about it in the song  See the Sky(about to rain).   Well, he grew up in Winnipeg, that's a big Curling town.   The only thing I don't like about Curling these days, is that they have these wimpy push brooms, instead of the big things we used to use, that made a great loud slapping sound.  Ah yes...Curling.
