As a country, this dispute over the leaking of a CIA agent shows how much trouble we are in as a country. There was some new research out a couple of weeks ago (reported in The Week magazine) that some scientists think liberals and conservatives are genetically different and that instead of growing closer together, we are growing wider apart and becoming more and more polarized. This Rove controversy and those underneath of it show how much trouble we are truly in when it comes to politics. We are in a war right now and for purely political football and to gain some political yardage, Wilson's wife was identified to cast doubt on WHY he went to Niger - the dispute has not been about WHAT he discovered about the claims of Hussein and Yellowcake, but that HE went. Who fucking cares what party a person is in if that person is telling the damned truth? Think of it...the game is about disputing the messenger, not the message he brought back. A damned president lied in a state of the union speech - his own people told him not to say those 16 words - but he did and just to scare the American people into war.And now we have fellow Americans going to extreme lengths to protect an asshole political operative like Rove and his helpers. Disgusting.
