Okay, Block, here are a few suggestions (with links provided):
A tour of Fenway Park is very cool indeed. You can walk the perimeter of the field (don't touch the grass), and have your picture taken in front of the Green Monster (bring a camera). It's a hell of a bargain.

The New England Aquarium is wonderful, and there's an IMAX theatre next door!

The Freedom Trail will appeal to the historian in you. Can't say that I ever walked it.

The Museum of Fine Arts is great if you are so inclined.
The Museum of Science is absolutely fantastic, and another IMAX theatre is there as well!
And of course there is Harvard Square, my fave restaurant, Fire & Ice, is there. Come see the Harvard elite mingle with the panhandlers in the People's Republic of Cambridge. If you're really a Revolutionary War buff, you can head out to Lexington and Concord (less than a 30 minute drive) to see where the shot heard round the world took place. What else, if you're up to music, there's The Paradise Rock Club, Avalon, Johnny D's, and numerous other venues. The Boston Phoenix can tell you who is playing where http://www.bostonphoenix.com/.
I'm sure I missed many other places of interest. Reg can no doubt add to my list. Kevin in Arizona went to school here as well, perhaps he can help, and I seem to recall someone else. Good luck, happy hunting, and if feel inclined to see New Hampshire (only an hour away), let me know.
