There's this amazing experimental and improvizing music festival each Sept in Baltimore called HIGH ZERO. It is organized by this absolutely innovative wizard, John Berndt. Many of the musicians who play at the fest, and who also contribute to their weekly coffehouse get togethers in Baltimore at the Red Room, design, build..their own instruments. Modern Harry Partch clones and much beyond, really amazing. In building these "devices", of course there is much more than twelve tone, and in studying in these areas, I'm sure one of the people listed WILL undoubtedly know about Zimbalon (I was gonna say Zebulon...).
