"Donnie Darko" starts out as an interesting movie but I didn't like the ending.  It does have a good soundtrack, it's all 80s music.  In fact I was hoping to hear David + David at some point, but no such luck.  Anyway, the movie starts out kind of like "American Beauty", a skewed portrait of life in suburbia.  Then there is an unexpected twist at the end, and it was too bizarre for me.  There are some movies like "The Sixth Sense" where I can accept a revelation that changes everything that went before, but in "Donnie Darko" the end just makes no sense.  I just watched it on video, I don't know if it's available yet in Australia.
