Actually, the "liberals" were screaming to get into the conflict, Roosevelt chief among them. Also folks like Andrea's and my grandfather and great uncle, who were very active in the Jewish refugee movement, and other noted leftists like Bertolt Brecht and Thomas Mann. The folks who didnt want to fight, or worse, wanted to fight on the side of Germany, were people like Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, Joseph Kennedy, and Prescott Bush, who all sympathised with and admired Hitler. Sorry.
Wow is this coming from David Baerwald? I'm speechless. I guess we are looking for the best of the worst with Iraq. Do we pull an Radical Tyrant out of power and chance the possibility of a civil war? Is it just the Sunni's that are causing the uproar? What would be the influence of other oppressed countries if the Shia, Kurds and the non-radical Sunni uphold democracy? Would others say hey we want that! Are am I reaching here? I watched Hotel Rwanda this past weekend and I guess was amazed at what the UN won't do. If there truly was another holocaust would we as Americans say "Hey that does not effect us...let's not get involved!". I mean we ask the question if we do this then this action occurs or maybe not but if we do nothing what happens? But when we have the name calling and character assinations made by the puppett left with Teddy Kenndy leading the charge does that help or hurt the cause? I know if I was over there in Iraq I would not appreciate low blow comments. I'd say Teddy boy come over here and make those comments and hang around in our unit and see what happens
