Icon Brainwashed..

I've just finished my 2nd listening of George Harrison's "Brainwashed" It is a brilliant piece of music, filled with Harrison's signature slide guitar, the outstanding drumming by Jim Keltner and Jeff Lynne and Harrisons' 25 yr. old son fleshing out the rest of the soundscape. Tracks are not cluttered, with layers of synths, strings or overproduction. Lyrically, it is full of humour, observations that give you a glimpse of Harrisons' piece of mind, and of course the spirituality that embodied all of George's work.

Vocally there is no sign of Harrison struggling to reach any notes,as most of the vocal tracks were laid down as he battled throat cancer. I purchased the limited edition that includes a DVD featuring the creation of the album,a poster of George, and a guitar pick with Harrison's embossed signature,as well as liner notes and lyrics all in Harrisons' own handwriting.

You get the immediate impression that the guitar work was the priority and each track has outstanding playing. The tracks that Lynne, and Dhani Harrison completed posthumously are seamless and there is no filler at all. A magnificant finale to "the Quiet Beatle's" short life.

Regards, Kyle
