Kevin,

I know what you mean...one song leads to another, you obsess about what to leave in, what to leave out...hours pass, nothing really gets done, and the mixes end up being more of a nightmare than fun.  That used to happen to me, and I have some ADD type stuff going on so concentration and organization can be a weak hand for me.

Then, I discovered the "flow", as in "go with the flow" method, quite serendipitously.  I just sit down, slip on one thing (multi-disc changer helps), it seems to musically lead to another choice, that leads to another, and pretty soon I've got my dozen or so artists lined up.  Do a little shuffling of song orders in the computer, burn the master...and that's it.  When the songs were first recorded makes no difference to me, the flow or segue, whatever you want to call it, seems to have a life of it's own, and kinda dictates what you put on there.

Does that help?   I suppose the key is....don't obsess!

BTW...really enjoying the little I have heard from your comp.  That version of Will My love Open the Door, knocked me out.  Super arrangement, pedal steel and all....oh yeah!
