My father-in-law knew Hackworth quite well, having served under him in Vietnam. Hack even had some kind things to say about him in one of his books. Hackworth was a welcome thorn in the side of the military establishment. It's all too rare to have someone with his credibility take on the powers that be. I don't know if anyone will have the guts to fill his shoes.
