the festival is a celebration of most things indie and, since it's still cool if not cold in TX in March, the weasels come for the music and not just the party. i've played it a few times; Maggie's West, Fat Tuesday and another joint; rockin-ass shows, all... industry people all over, roundly ignored. bravo! Sandra Buttock er Bullock in attendance one year, whooooopeeeee. 6th Street is chockablock with clubs bars stages stooges and stoolies, too many of each and all to count. saw Patty Griffin at the Austin Music Hall, free with my performer pass if i recall (hey i rhymed), popped in to the Electric Lounge to see a friend's band called Liar (with a great guitarist named Eric McFadden), got drunk did a sloppy backflip off the stage and made too much noise in general. Austin is quite the liberal/rockandroll oasis in Texass, thassfersure. fun place, i unnerstan why db commutes. my fave city in the Big Red State. yee haw.
