Sophmore or junior year, I'm not sure but it was a science class with Mr. Cook who looked very much like Ickabod Crane. Skinny, gangly, homely. Anyhow it was the age of snap-in-pops. You remember the white things you would throw at the cement and they would pop on impact. Anyhow Carl Beeson decides to throw one in class while Mr. Cook is turned around. As he heard it he said "Who threw that.". No one replied. He asked again who threw it and no one replied. Then he said "I did'nt want to punish the person I simply wanted to know." Prompty Carl Beeson said with a smile "It was me Mr. Cook". At which time Mr. Cook said "Out in the hallway Carl". He got 2 licks and they were not off of his shoe. Anyway nobody trusted Mr. Cook after that. Carl Beeson later went to prison on a felony charge
