Hope everyone will give this film a chance. I have not seen a film like this in a bit. The cinematography was wonderful. Shadows and everything. There is a scene in a car where the usual mysterious dashboard light is not present and the faces of the characters fall in and out of light. Rarely is this seen.

Which leads me to a complaint of mine - I have not seen "Ray" and will probably not see it until it hits DVD, but I get weary of actors who basically do impressions of real people and receive accolades for the impression rather than creations of people we don't know.

It would seem to me that it would take much more craft to make a character we don't know believable, rather than go, "Ahah, that Spacecy sure can do a great Christopher Walken."
