I just heard from a friend that Gary Webb, the Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, and one of my great inspirations and sources, has committed suicide. This is very bad news, and woe to all of us. While the suicide seems to be in fact a suicide, i'm going to quote Stalin's favorite assassin Beria-- "any fool can fake a suicide. It takes a real artist to cause one." Look into his life, read his words, celebrate his honesty, humor and courage, and mourn for a moment a truly great American, a truly inspiring man, and a friend to truth seekers everywhere.
