Interesting observation I was hoping you would pick up on my contradiction. Do you remember that the Album "Green" was released on election day in 1988 I think? Was it Dukakis back then they supported? I went to see them twice on that tour , the only times I've seen R.E.M live. And I've known Stipe was gay way before he came out. I had a girlfriend that followed Stipe, Buck and Mills around Athens about the time of Lifes Rich Pagent('85'). Said he was extremely open about it. Funny how the press never reported it till much later. I remember Stipe was interviewed saying "Hell I've been wearing mascara on stage for years, did you(the press) not pick up on that?"
