I had just purchased tickets for Velvet Revolver yesterday afternoon for the Chicago stop on 11/21. Came here, saw the headline and my heart sank. I thought the worst. Glad I was wrong and it's just good ole' human concern for a brother.
Scott has looked gaunt for a long time now, at least since the final STP album was released. Him AND all the old G'n'R refugees swear to be clean, and it has been a while since any of them made the news for it, so I hope for the best. On looks alone he makes me think of another artist I like and the long period of time I thought he was dying, Michael Stipe.
I put Mr. Wieland in the same kind of category that I put Robert Downey Jr. in. Talented fuck ups. In both cases I really really like their work, but I also suspect that at anytime the headline will appear and the ride , for them, will be over. Haven't heard much, good or bad, from Mr. Downey lately. Alive and limited career would seem the better option.
There is a documentary on the Natural Born Killers (Director's Cut) DVD that has a super gaunt Downey, obviously high and "fiddling" with a spoon the whole time. By far the worst off I've ever seen the man.
Up early feeding the baby, Oh BOO! everyone. Today my costume is that of a man who knows or cares nothing for politics.
