I appreciate Sean Penn's work on both sides of the camera. Arguably, he is currently among, if not the, best American actor.

And I just can't see how his going to Iraq is unAmerican, as it wasn't a declared war. And still isn't legally speaking. Is it?

I could relate to his desire to go see for himself, I certainly would have considered it if it were within our means.

But then it was clear from the beginning that it was dumb to get involved in to a guerilla religious war.

Oh well, what is done is done, be here now and all that rot.
