Now this Kerry swift-boat thing is reaching absurdity. Obviously a can of worms JFK (yep, that's his initials ) should never have opened. It is clear to me that:
1. Kerry did indeed serve in Vietnam in active combat.
2. Bush did not serve in Vietnam, and may or may not have shown up for stateside duty during the war.
The point seems to me not to have too much importance in influencing my vote, yet it has been blown up to astronomical size by both parties, and is the rage of discussion by the press (perhaps they have nothing better to talk about).
Kerry touted his service record, and I think it may be his undoing. Even though the Republican smear campaign is just that...dirty politics, it has been effective. Kerry has wavered before, and now they have injected further doubt into public opinion. The Navy records clearly show events transpired as Kerry said they did. Did Kerry step in quicksand?
Wow; politics. Whoever said baseball was the nation's first sport?
Your thoughts please. I know we have talked about this issue before.
