Gee Reg, maybe I oughta start quoting Michael Moore...I mean that guy doesn't stretch the truth any does he? I mean, you all seem to worship the ground he walks on, don't ya?
Come on man, I've never said I worship Mike Moore or quoted him as a source. I said on several occasions what I think of Moore and what I thought of his film. I will say that Moore's film is not full of lies, I did say he distorts some things. I also said his film is, by definition and his own words, propaganda. I think probably everyone here on this board agrees with that.
You've left links to Drudge and Newsmax here recently and they are worse and far more prolific with the distortions and manipulations than Moore will ever be. Moore does a film every couple of years or so, Drudge and Newsmax are at it daily. If all I did was sit around and quote Mike Moore I would hope you'd call me on it.
As I said to you before Kevin, if you want to support Bush that's fine and your right, I really have no business telling you not to and I respect your choice. I will however make an effort to try and tell you when something you post about Kerry is off base because I don't think that's fair and I don't really like the fact that people like Rove use these tactics to win an election. If you say you support Bush because of the abortion thing, fine...if you start repeating the nonsense about Kerry's war record well that's a bunch of crap. I'm not trying to trick you or fool you into becoming a Kerry supporter, I don't expect that to ever happen. I just think it's the right thing to do if someone is saying something dishonest about anyone to point that out. Wouldn't you like it if someone was trying to spread lies about you and many people knew they were lies, for those people to stand up for you and say "That's not true!"
George W. Bush was never charged with being awol from the National Guard, so anyone who said that he was awol is a liar. There is no question though why Bush was in the Guard and that he wanted to avoid going to Viet Nam. Same goes for Cheney. Now there is nothing wrong with anyone using the fact that Kerry volunteered to go and fight and according to the military is a heavily decorated war hero as a distinction between these two men. Kerry is a true hero and has served his country in many ways for a lot of years. That makes him a good example of all that we can be as Americans. He's someone your children could admire. Bush has nowhere near this man's record and is only where he's at...in his own words even...because he's got his father's name and connections. Those are simple facts.
It's also a simple fact that you prefer Republicans over Democrats because of the abortion issue. There's nothing wrong with that or dishonest about that. I do feel bad for you though because it seems to put you in a position where, this time around, you have to line up with people who have no business being where they are.
