We never made it into the water...had I known that about the thermals I may have checked it out.  The photo I posted doesn't quite capture the real scene as remember it.  It's sort of like photographing the faces on Mt. Rushmore...the phtos never measure up.

Did you do the hike to Harney Peak?  The view is well worth the effort to get up there.
