Icon Wall of Sound Review

Finally got the compilation CD from UK's Wall of Sound - entitled "We love you... so love us three". A lot of new music to me, but bought on the strength of a single song "Soon you'll be mine" by The Tropics featuring Sweet Hustler. I'd describe it as John Butler Trio meets Malford Milligan from Storyville - great voice, rhythm and guitar. I emailed Sweet Hustler and got a response within the day - he apparently makes short films and makes "darker erotic electronica" music - any idea what that means?

Lots of other great songs by groups such as Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Electric Six, Zoot Woman, Grand National and a nice instrumental by "The American Analog Set" - never heard of them...

Anyway - highly recommended for those who like slightly different, often electronic based music. I've ordered the first two compilations today and eagerly await their arrival.

Also picked up Mark Seymour's latest CD "Embedded" - if you like Crowded House, there are similarities (could be that Nick Seymour from CH is the brother of Mark?). Smoother and more thoughtful than when he was with Hunters & Collectors...
