Other than Anita Bryant and her anti-gay remarks and Michael Savage's brief stay at MSNBC, can anyone else out there think of where conservatives have been fired at a clip near as often as liberals for making politically statements? I can think of a whole bunch of people on the left where the uproar has been much greater and with more results when contrasted to offensive comments on the right. It seems like the standard procedure for offensive conservative comments entails an apology (until Cheney's "go fuck yourself" comment) and then platitudes by fellow conservatives for owning up and taking responsibilty for terrible comments. However, it appears when those on the left side do the same thing it is a celebrated firing and run the offener out of town on the rails. Example of this include people like the Dixie Chicks, Howard Stern, Sean Penn, Bill Maher, Whoopi Goldberg and Linda Ronstadt. Am I missing something?
