Lance and his wife have been struggling for quite a while trying to make it work.  This goes back to before last year's tour.  It's tough enough for some marriages to survive without all the added pressure a professional bicycle racing career can add to it.

I don't have the same respect I used to have for Lemond.  I can't recall exactly what it was that Lemond said a couple years ago after Lance won his 4th Tour but he seemed to go along with the notion that it was quite possible Lance's win was somehow tainted.  Possible blood doping or some such reason.  The French media as well as the French courts have tried their best to get something, anything to stick to him but they can't.  The courts have taken much longer than necessary to make rulings to clear Lance's name and the whole thing is getting old.   Hey, our teams used to be laughed at over there and now we're winning their Super Bowl year after year and they don't like it. 

A couple weeks before the Tour Lance was tested and it was shown that he's in the best form of his cycling career.  I'd love nothing better than to Lance go out tomorrow in the first mountain stage and reclaim the yellow jersey, then ride it all the way to Paris.  There's a whole lot of racing to be done between now and then but that's my dream.  He's been great for the sport as was Greg Lemond.
