Well, went on another cd splurge......
Brookville's - Wonderfully Nothing - it's a popish (pop seems to vanilla, it's not really pop, but easy going and good) type cd with instrumentals sprinkled through the cd. The song "Walking on Moonlight" is addictive and I can't quit playing that song. A beautiful song.
Anne McCue' - Roll - A wonderful vocalist. Crazy Beatiful Child is a sweet tune for the ears.
Julie Doiron - Heart and Crime - "Oh These Walls" is a heartbreaker of a song. She is similar to ballads by Beth Orton. "Oh These Walls" seems to be about some sort of abusive relationship - either that of a woman or a small child. A beautiful, beautiful song.
Johnny Marr and the Healers - Boomslang - A great rock and roll record. Really.
Liz Phair - Liz Phair - What can anyone say about Liz Phair. I was really suprised at how good this cd is. People complained about her going "commercial" but this is a really good cd. The song "HWC", while very Liz Phair graphic and will never see radio air play, is really catchy.
Finally, a song by Bohren & Der Club of Gore - "Constant Fear" - This is the first next cd I buy - scary, moody jazz. Something else. Heard it from a disc in the recent New Music Monthly.
