The story did float around a bit...the right made sure of that...the problem with the story is the same problem the Joe Wilson story has had...it's complex and not easily explained in a single sentence...Wilson managed to grab headlines with his accusations...the media likes that, a simple source accusing someone (in this case Rove and by default Bush)...but from there the thing becomes a maze...with Bob Novak and mystery sources...Ashcroft and his people handling the investigation and the issues with that...and the story sunk...where is it now? It is a huge story that involves a federal crime but it's off the radar...

The Gorelick story appeared late in the game and came from the right...the Bush administration and the right had launched a campaign to discredit the 9/11 commission that was quite honestly shameful. The commission was not about prosecuting anyone or outing criminals...it was a simple investigation on what went on to find ways to prevent another 9/11. That's also why this Gorelick thing is a bit silly...it was not a criminal investigation and she was not sitting in judgment of anyone...she is one of several people that will contribute to the report...it's not a big deal...it just seems the right wants to try and blame Clinton and steer blame away from Bush. Big surprise.

Reading the Clinton PDD's is interesting though...I posted a couple of them here...it is a shared responsibility between several administrations including Bush 1 and Reagan. So they all play a part in this.

I think what you posted is fine but it won't make a big splash because it's complex and at present plays no part in what's taking place...again I don't see that as a "left wing media cover-up"...it's just a snooze of a story right now unless someone specifically charges Gorelick with something...nobody has...or some sort of criminal investigation takes off that ties back into it.

There's no chance Clinton will now be charged with criminal behavior and if Bush ends up being a one term president and doesn't get charged with criminal behavior in the next 6 months, he never will be either.

I'm not trying to downplay it either just trying to give you a little perspective on it. Again, I refer you to the long floated story of Bush getting his girlfriend an abortion in 1970...people have come forward on it except the woman...who is now married and doesn't want to discuss it...no women=no story...no charges against Gorelick, nobody complaining in the Bush administration about Gorelick, all major players seem fine about the 9/11 commission now=no story.

There's got to be a there, there...you know what I'm saying Kevin? People can write stuff and dig up stuff all day long about what previous administrations did...it's not gonna go anywhere unless there is something driving the story...

That's not "left wing bias"...it's the media wanting the juice...the good stuff...what's hot...what will grab your attention...most of America doesn't even know who Gorelick is...and wouldn't even care...
