Yes, Los Lobos is just wonderful. I'd rank Kiko, Colossal Head, Good Morning Altzan and the Latin Playboys first record as 4 of the best music offerings to come out of California in the past 30 years. When they were first starting out, they were travelling around the country in a couple of old station wagons. When they were in Providence, my friend Sarah got to know them a bit after a gig at Lupo's and since they hadn't had a decent meal in weeks, invited them to her house where they whipped up a killer meal for everyone. Said they were terrific people and that's not hard to believe.Going to see them too next month at a club. They are one of the great bar bands ever and if I'm ever, foolish enough to get married again, I'd put them at the top of the list of who to hire for the reception. It'd almost make getting married worth it.
