my MUTAYTOR peeps are getting great results from a program called M Audio Live. full control, editing, pasting, built-in effects up the ol' wazoo, auto mixdown, etc. available in Mac or PC, @ $500 and from all accounts well worth it. i've layed tracks and heard 'em assembled and it sounds clean yet warm. definitely worth a gander...
